A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DANCIN' BAND FROM FALCONLAND
Graham High School’s marching band has been known for decades as the “Dancin’ Band from Falcon Land,” a style rooted in showmanship and dance-forward field routines that take cues from Ohio University’s Marching 110 while maintaining its own identity and traditions.
-
The band’s modern “dancin’” identity traces strongly to longtime director Robert D. DuBois (1970–1987), recognized locally as a founding father of the current performance style—music-driven entertainment paired with choreographed movement that still influences shows today.
-
The program openly acknowledges its emulation of the Marching 110 (famous for their high-energy, dance-heavy shows) while emphasizing a distinct Graham culture and traditions passed down through generations.
